Depending on the situation you may want a natural look or possibly its a night out with the girls and time to flash those lashes. Using your hair colour to determine the mascara colour will give you that natural look but for a night out why not try blue or purple mascara shades.
Your type of lash makes a difference as well in choosing the type of mascara thats best for you. Naturally long lashes tend to do best with thicker mascaras whilst lighter mascaras are more suited to those with shorter lashes. The type of mascara brush makes a difference too. A thick brush is best for long and full lashes, whilst small lashes are best suited to a small brush.
Both waterproof and water-soluble mascaras are available. Waterproof mascaras are great for occasions when you may be dancing the night away, off to see a tearjerker at the cinema with friends, dumping the boyfriend, and any other times you think you may cry, sweat or come into contact with water (rain etc). Watersoluble mascaras do have the advantage of being easy to remove without the rubbing, and stretching of the skin when using makeup remover, although when they come into contact with water you can end up not looking your best.
As with all cosmetics and make up if you have sensitive skin or any skin allergies use hypoallergenic mascaras.
